Athens's weather is typically Mediterranean with mild winters and
dry and hot summers. The hottest months are in July and August with
an average temperature of 28 °C but many times, the temperature
can soar above 40°C (100°F). The months of July and August
are also characterised by a strong wind blowing from the North called
"meltemi".
The temperature
starts falling from September and this period was characterised
the last years by some rainfalls.
The perfect timer to visit is in April and May where the weather
is warm enough and sunny.
