Metro
The metro is a new way of transportation since
it was inaugurated in 2001. The metro has totally changed the Athenians'
way of life. There are only 3 lines but they already serve the centre
of the city very well. But they are still working to enlarge the network.
The central station is located at Syntagma, Athens' central square.
A ticket costs 0.70 cents.

Taxis
The taxis of Athens are easily detectable as there are yellow and
can been seen everywhere and at any time. Despite the impressing number
of taxis that can be seen around Athens, it can be sometimes really
difficult to get one. One of the particularities of the taxis in Athens
is that they can take you even if they have already passenger in it.
And the thing is that every person will be charged the fare shown
in the meter.
The meter always starts with a minimum charge of 0.75 cents. Fares
then depend to the time of the day and traffic conditions. The fare
is doubled between midnight and 6 am. There is also a surcharge from
ports, airport, rail station and bus station.
